BIO
Aja Barber is a writer, personal stylist and style consultant living in South East London. Her work centers around the intersection of sustainability within the fashion landscape focusing on ethics, intersectional feminism, racism and how systems of power effect buying habits. Barber’s sustainability journey began in Virginia U.S, with a book called 101 Things Kids can do to Save the Planet. It clearly struck a nerve with Barber and inspired her future career in sustainable fashion and social justice.
Aja has recently authored her first book titled “Consumed” and touches on the need for collective change throughout the fashion industry by considering the interplay between colonialism, climate change and consumerism. Barber also provides insight into debates and conversations surrounding the intersection of race and feminism as seen through her touching and inspiring IGTV video concerning the murder of George Floyd. She is an advocate and representative for sustainable fashion and social justice who is transforming the fashion landscape with her innovative insights and passion.
