EDWARD BUCHANAN

BIO

Based in Milan for the past two decades, Edward Buchanan is no stranger to Italian Fashion. Born in Ohio and a graduate from Parsons School of Design, Buchanan’s career took off immediately when he got hired on the spot by Bottega Veneta. He was offered the role of design director, responsible for creating a ready-to-wear collection from scratch.

After six years with the company, Buchanan stepped away to create Leflesh with Manuela Morin. Following his success, he moved to New York to work with iconic early 2000s stars JLo and Sean Combs.

In 2009 Edward launched his beloved knitwear brand Sansovino 6. An entirely genderless line made exclusively of knitwear, the successful brand is available in Europe, the US and Japan.

Currently working as a consultant under the moniker The Situation alongside managing director Alessio Lepore, Edward Buchanan shares words, wisdom and vision with companies such as Max Mara and Stefanel. Throughout the years Edward has found himself in an unexpected position as an activist, paving the way for black designers at the forefront of fashion houses.”
